HeARTS for Haiti

My friends and I have been working really hard to put together a benefit for the Haiti relief efforts. And our website has just been launched - Thank you so much to FCV who created the website!!! (I did logo - I gotta plug myself a little too) www.heartsforhaitivancouver.org Check it out!!! It's going to be a night of jazz and art. We've even booked Marla Goulien for the night!

Several local artists have stepped up and donated art pieces for our silent auction fundraiser event. One of my favourites is a friend Shehzad Noorani who is actually IN HAITI RIGHT NOW.

Our goal is to raise $10,000. 100% of the proceeds go to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Relief efforts. I really hope you can come out and support our efforts.

Please don't forget Haiti, there is a lot of work being done right now but mid-March is the rainy season followed by the hurricane season. Tents that are working now as temporary shelters will not be sufficient. More help is needed. There is still a long road to recovery for Haiti.

I will try to update this post with a list of contributing artists and items on auction as they come in and are confirmed. Again, I have to say that I'm really excited about this project and I really hope to see you out at our event. Let's try to pass the $10,000 goal! Please purchase your tickets at www.heartsforhaitivancouver.org

Just the simple things in life

It's just the simple things in life that make me happy. My friends, running, the beach, good food, the sound of a ukulele, a pretty voice...
