Several local artists have stepped up and donated art pieces for our silent auction fundraiser event. One of my favourites is a friend Shehzad Noorani who is actually IN HAITI RIGHT NOW. Our goal is to raise $10,000. 100% of the proceeds go to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Relief efforts. I really hope you can come out and support our efforts.
Please don't forget Haiti, there is a lot of work being done right now but mid-March is the rainy season followed by the hurricane season. Tents that are working now as temporary shelters will not be sufficient. More help is needed. There is still a long road to recovery for Haiti.
I will try to update this post with a list of contributing artists and items on auction as they come in and are confirmed. Again, I have to say that I'm really excited about this project and I really hope to see you out at our event. Let's try to pass the $10,000 goal!
